Summary:
This training course aims to introduce participants to the structure and functioning of wetland and riverine floodplain ecosystems. Participants will be trained in various physico-chemical process and biological components/process study methods, and to get insights into the values of wetlands and riverine floodplain systems, both on the ecosystem level and for human uses. Conservation and restoration strategies for natural wetland and riverine floodplain ecosystems will be promoted and case study examples of rehabilitation projects will be presented.
