Summary:
In 1997, the interagency National Water Quality Monitoring Council (NWQMC) was established in the USA to implement a voluntary, integrated, nationwide strategy to improve water resource monitoring, assessment, and reporting. It sponsored its first conference in Reno, Nevada in 1998.
From May 20-23 2002, the National Water Quality Monitoring Council, in collaboration with many of our member organizations, will sponsor its third national conference. This meeting will provide participants with opportunities for sharing successes, discussing issues, networking with colleagues, and bringing new and innovative ideas back to their own programs. The conference agenda will include plenary speakers, paper presentations, panel discussions, interactive workshops, posters, exhibits, field trips, and facilitated discussion sessions.
This will be a working conference where all participants will play a key role in identifying the issues and collective steps we need to take to build a water monitoring framework for the future!.
