Summary:
South Africa has tremendous progress in terms of delivering water and sanitation services to communities. The devolution and decentralisations of the responsibilities for effective planning, implementation and sustainable operation of such services are among challenges and opportunities facing both government and water sectors. A learning environment needs to be created to take the sector through such challenges and opportunities. Such a learning environment would need to cover all the aspects of the management of water resources. It is in this context that the 13th International Management Training Network conference is scheduled to be held in South Africa.

National and International experiences and knowledge will be shared at this conference on all aspects of the management of water in a learning environment.
