From 2007-06-25 to 2007-06-27
Venue: Vail, Colorado, United States
Summary:
The goal of this conference is to provide an interdisciplinary forum on emerging chemical and microbial contaminants (ECs) of concern in the environment. ECs are defined as those chemicals or pathogenic microorganisms that are not commonly monitored, but have been shown to occur in the environment and may represent a potential ecosystem or public health risk.
Some of the topics to be discussed during this conference are:
• determining the occurrence of ECs in the environment
• characterization of sources of ECs
• understanding processes and factors that affect the transport and fate of ECs
• analytical tools for measuring ECs in the environment
• human and ecosystem effects
• engineering solutions to EC issues
• policy implications for EC occurrence in water resources.
