The rope pump technology has been successfully disseminated in Nicaragua. The workshop offers an opportunity for decision makers and water supply professionals to familiarise themselves with the rope pump technology, it will assess the methodology of the technology promotion. The specific objectives of the workshop are: - Place the rope pump on the international rural water supply agenda. - Inform national rural water supply policy makers of different countries (continents) on the rope pump technology. - Define structured actions to support the rope pump technology transfer process. - Use technology transfer expertise as a tool to promote cost effective rural water supply technologies.
