Summary:
The Northern European FRIEND and AHMY FRIEND will hold a joint meeting on Low Flows and Droughts. The meeting will take place at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava from 10 to 12 November 2008. The group will discuss data issues, indicators and drought monitoring, drought generating processes and modeling drought patterns and characterization, large scale drivers and tele-connections, drought forecasting and prediction, as well as human impacts on droughts and global impacts. The major aim of this meeting is to generate and foster knowledge on drought issues in Europe and the Mediterranean region.
