Summary:
The World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) will be held in Johannesburg in September 2002. One priority issue for southern and South Africa is that of water. The challenge facing South Africa is to make the change towards greater equity and more efficient use of water resources. In order to ensure that the WISA membership is fully aware of the preparations being made for the World Summit and the opportunities for the water sector, this Forum meeting has been arranged at which the Minister of Water Affairs and Forestry will present the keynote address.
