Summary:
The symposium seeks to find ecologically - sustainable, people - participatory and low-cost ways and means of addressing the various water management issues which are of particular concern to the Developing countries. It will have eight sessions devoted to the following themes:
1. Water resources inventories, with special reference to the management of coastal aquifers,
2. Water quality in relation to water use,
3. Augmentation, conservation and protection of water resources,
4. Techno-socio-economic challenges of water transfer,
5. Information Technology in the management of water supplys,
6. Drinking water issues,
7. Climate change impacts on water resources and,
8. Special Seminar of AGID - Role of NGOs in the Sustainable Water Resources Management.
