From 2002-05-06 to 2002-05-10
Venue: Delft , the Netherlands
Summary:
Salt water intrusion has been a main concern in many groundwater aquifers throughout the world. To deal with them, and learn from each other, Salt Water Intrusion Meetings (SWIM) have been held since 1968, in different places in Europe, usually every other year. The meetings bring together specialists interested in the different aspects of salt water encroachment into aquifers. The meeting deal with problems around coastal areas, but inland salinization phenomena are also considered.
A wide range of topics is proposed, including modeling, hydrogeochemical and environmental isotope studies, study and survey methods, ecology, salinization prevention, impact of global weather and regional studies.
