Summary:
To prompt dialogue and to address some of these issues and questions, in the year of Rio + 10, scientists, social scientists, water managers,
representatives of agricultural, energy and other
industries, representatives of government agencies, NGOs, community and First Nations
representatives, and other parties will come together in a two day workshop and think tank for a dialogue on water security for future life on earth. They will identify the most critical water issues and knowledge gaps globally,
nationally and regionally, and seek solutions which will provide a framework for action to input to the Third World Water Forum in Kyoto
in 2003 and to guide a proposed National Water
Policy for Canada.
