Summary:
The aim of this conference is to discuss sources, models, measures and interventions, but also coherent strategies to deal with diffuse pollution. The conference programme includes a focus on the European developments on diffuse pollution and its approach.
Topics to be presented will include:
- pesticides, sources and impacts
- diffuse water pollution caused by urban drainage
- innovative uses of vegetated drainage ditches for reducing agricultural runoff
- study on the removal by soil of pollutants discharged from road surface during storm events
- public participation and collaboration
- environmental management systems; a tool to reduce diffuse source pollutants
- effectiveness of riparian buffers in controlling discharge of nitrate to streams.
