Summary:
Besides the traditional engineering problems at various scales induced by anthropogenic and natural causes (such as constructions, reservoirs, de- or reforestation, gravel quarrying, navigation, climatic change and river renaturalization) the workshop will address the problems issuing from scale interaction (down-scaling and up-scaling procedures) already familiar to geophysical disciplines, as well as a few non-technical problems related to ecological, sociological and economic aspects of sedimentation.
