Summary:
Following the tradition of the previous seven conferences, this meeting aims at fostering interdisciplinary interactions between atmospheric scientists, hydrologists, mathematicians, and statisticians. With an ever increasing importance on regional water resources, there is an ever increasing need for quantitative precipitation analyses and forecasts as well as quantitative verification of these products. This conference will address these issues in an attempt to focus the precipitation community on the existing challenges and to collectively explore new and novel methods to improve collaboration among the existing sub-disciplines.
