From 2001-09-05 to 2001-09-06
Venue: Sheraton Burlington
Burlington, Vermont, USA
Summary:
Conference presentations will deal with the remediation of contaminated wetlands and the use of wetlands to remediate soils, bodies of water, or wastestreams. Some presentations will describe work under way to develop concepts and protocols for the use of natural and constructed wetlands to intercept and treat contaminated media.
The processes involved in wetlands remediation are diverse. Wetlands often are sensitive habitats, and the impact of contamination and remediation activities on the resident organisms is of concern. Addressing these complex issues requires the involvement of a wide variety of disciplines and organizations. The objective of this conference will be to provide the opportunity for site managers, scientists, engineers, and regulators involved in this field to discuss work in progress and to outline future efforts.
