Summary:
As of now, 25 Asian countries have signed the Ramsar Convention. They meet triennially at the Conference of Parties (CoP) to discuss primarily the implementation of recommendations, resolutions and intergovernmental plans of action. This Symposium will provide an opportunity to explore and share innovative ways and means for the management, conservation and sustainable development of wetlands; this is the key to improving productivity and people’s livelihood opportunities.
