Summary:
This Forum will be held as a side event during the International Meeting on the 10 Year Review of the Barbados Program of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States (SIDS). In addition, this event seeks to mobilize the scientific community to engage in research, policy analysis, and to design programmes of action to solve major problems faced by SIDS on a continuous basis, and to raise global public awareness on SIDS issues through research, education, and dissemination of new knowledge. Some of the themes of this conference will be: · Climate change, biodiversity, and fragile ecosystems · Managing natural resources, and renewable energy · Health Issues, incl. HIV/AIDS, Malaria and other diseases · Education and human capital development · International cooperation.
