From 2005-04-03 to 2005-04-09
Venue: Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil
Summary:
This assembly covers two topics - sustainability and uncertainty – in the common goal of advancing the science of hydrology in the service of humankind. The assembly’s challenge is to improve our understanding of sustainability and uncertainty and to refine our ability to transmit this understanding to those who manage the world's limited freshwater resources.
The topics of this conference include:
• sediment budgets
• sustainable water management solutions for large cities
• groundwater resources sustainability indicators
• dynamics and biogeochemistry of river corridors and wetlands contribution from glaciers and snow cover to runoff from mountains in different climates
• regional hydrologic impacts of climatic variability and change with an emphasis on less developed countries
• prediction in ungauged basins: promises and progress.
