From 2005-01-24 to 2005-01-28
Venue: Pretoria, South Africa
Summary:
The South African Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) is introducing toxicity testing of complex industrial wastewater looking directly at the effect a mixture of substances may have on the environment. This course allows those involved in water resource management - researchers, scientists, managers, and those who will conduct toxicity tests - to plan new procedures and to satisfy the forthcoming policy. The course will demonstrate how applied aquatic ecotoxicology, biomonitoring and chemical monitoring form the basis for managing environmental waterquality.
Organizers: Unilever Centre for Environmental Water Quality, Institute for Water Research, Rhodes University.
