From 2005-03-22 to 2005-03-22
Venue: Calgary, Canada
Summary:
On World Water Day 2005, the Centre for Affordable Water and Sanitation Technology (CAWST) in Calgary, Alberta will organize a forum for youth to learn more about the link between water and community health, as well as the role of the international and local communities in addressing these needs. The forum will also explore what individual Calgarians can do to have a meaningful and positive long-term impact on water in their community.
Various Calgary-based youth organizations – High Schools, Universities and Colleges – have taken a proactive approach to this issue and have sought CAWST out as a resource to learn more. CAWST has invited 75 representatives from these groups for the First Annual World Water Day Youth Summit.
Delegates will participate in interactive group activities to exchange ideas and select plans of action, which they will then present to guests from the governmental, civic and business communities at the end of day.
