The UN World Water Assessment Programme invites you to join us at the 2009 World Water Week...
The World Water Week in Stockholm is an annual meeting place for the world's most urgent water-related issues, bringing together experts, practitioners, decision makers and leaders from around the globe. This year WWAP will host a number of events and will hold an exhibit with information on our most recent World Water Development Report and related publications. These events include a side event which looks towards the development of the fourth report, called "Building on the 3rd UN World Water Development Report: Water in a Changing World", and a side event launching four new side publications.
Building on the 3rd UN World Water Development Report: “Water in a Changing World"
Side event - 20 August 2009 - 17:45-18:45 - Room: K24
During this side event WWAP will present key messages from the UN world Water Development Report 3 “Water in a Changing World", and discuss them with the participants. This will also be an opportunity to learn more about the side processes on Indicators and Scenarios developed by WWAP in parallel with the WWDR, and to discuss the process and development of the next Report.
The WWDR, which aims to provide an authoritative assessment of the status of the world’s freshwater resources, is the only report of its kind. It is the result of collaboration and effort among the 26 members of UN-Water, country partners, non-governmental organizations, a technical advisory committee, expert groups, and hundreds of contributions from stakeholders through various consultations.
To obtain your own free copy of the WWDR-3 CD-Rom or other WWAP materials, please visit us at the WWAP Stand in the Exhibition Area. You can also download your own free copy of the report from our website, at http://www.unesco.org/water/wwap.
