Milestones: From Stokholm to Kyoto is released : This table synthesizes thirty years of international conferences and decisions related to the sustainable development of water resources, fom 1972 to 2003. All conferences are listed with their main issues, extracts from and links to their main outcome papers.
28/08/02 : WEHAB Framework paper on Water And Sanitation is released [PDF Format] : This comprehensive paper on water and sanitation released during the panel discussion on water sanitation outlines the major areas of concern and need for action in the area of freshwater.
Critical Trends: Global Challenge, Global Opportunity [PDF format]: New UN document looks at the different issues to be discussed at the summit, in particular WEHAB.

UN Millennium Declaration: Heads of states and governments met in New York from 6 to 8 September 2000 to discuss targets for the new millennium including on freshwater.
