The World Water Assessment Programme will be attending and participating in the World Summit on Sustainable Development and its parallel events. Please find below a sample of some of the activities we will be involved in.

WWAP at the Water Dome
The main objective of the WaterDome is to create water awareness by organising a dialogue between stakeholders based on the following themes:
- Water, Regional Integration and Finance (29 August)
- Water and Food Security (30 August)
- Water and Nature (31 August)
- Water, Energy and Climate (1 September)
- Water, Health and Poverty (2 September)
- Water and Globalization (3 September)
Look for the World Water Assessment Programme stand in the Water Dome (area 31 and 29 on the floorplan). The stand will feature information materials, the WWAP exhibit featuring our 23 UN partner agencies and information on the case studies that will be featured in the first version of the World Water Development Report.
The International Year of Freshwater 2003 Travelling Exhibit will be present next to the World Water Assessment Exhibit. The launch of the Year will take place in Water Dome during the WWAP side event "Monitoring Global Progress".
WWAP will also be organizing a half day side event at the Water Dome on "Monitoring Global Progress". The event will take place on the 3rd of September from 2:00- 4:30pm under the Theme Day "Water and Globalization" (Room 3 and 4) and will include the participation of ministers from our case study countries, high level UN representatives and other special guests. The announcement of the International Year of Freshwater 2003 will also be made.
