AVICOM
international committee of ICOM for audio-visual, images and sound new technologies
AVICOM is devoted to the still image, the basis of all audiovisual products, and to the moving image and covers such areas as cinema, video, multimedia and the Internet. The working group is currently in the process of compiling information for a thematic directory of art and documentary photograph collections, audio-vusual and multimedia in museums and cultural establishments the world over.
It organise colloques for professionals of museums and heritage in order to introduce them to new technologies, to allow them to have an outline about what is made in other museums, and to facilitate the interprofessional exchanges.
The working group also organises the International Festival of Audiovusual and Multimedia about Heritage (FIAMP) which promotes and disseminates multimedia products created by museums and cultural heritage institutions, and awards prizes for the most original productions. The working group publishes a catalogue of the multimedia products, museums Internet sites and films presented at the FIAMP.

Contest for the production of a clip
To
commemorate the 60th anniversary of ICOM, the General Secretariat and AVICOM
are launching a contest for the production of a captivating video clip that
encapsulates ICOM’s mission, values, and activities. The video clip is to be
no longer than two minutes and may make use of several visual and sound techniques.
The winning submission will receive a variety of accolades and international
exposure. Details and contest regulations can be found below and AVICOM Web
site.
