Description: Florida Heritage Collection provides World Wide Web access to digitized materials representing Florida's history, culture, arts, literatures, sciences and social sciences. The Florida Heritage Collection is an ongoing cooperative initiative of the Publication of Archival, Library and Museum Materials (PALMM) Project. A program of SUS libraries, PALMM is designed to provide support to individual and cooperative digital library initiatives. The Florida Heritage Collection web site is hosted by the Florida Center for Library Automation in Gainesville, Florida. The web site includes links to an outline of Florida history, a guide to Florida counties, and other topical information as well as an online tutorial on how to use the collection. Full text documents can be viewed online in both PDF and JPEG formats, and printed or downloaded through a web browser. A minimum level web browser of Netscape 4.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 (or similar browser with Java and JavaScript enabled) is required. Users also must have the Acrobat Reader configured in their browser for downloading and printing the PDF files.
