| Project Description |
| |
For Central Asia to become visible on the Internet it must have well trained computer specialists and art designers. The School for Young Web designers will be placed in Kyrgyzstan. The goal is not only to teach children how to express their creativity on the Internet, but also to create a new profession: Web master in Central Asia. The School will help provide the ongoing human resources for Internet development needed to complement the important UNESCO HeritageNet project.
Tasks will include the development of the Web page on Central Asian heritage, the first regional Internet magazine ‘Eurasia Today’, design of a training course in art preservation and preparation of an educational CD-ROM. The school will teach students how to use both basic and sophisticated applications (HTML-Editors, Front Page-98, GIS systems, etc).
ElCat, the Internet provider in Kyrgyzstan, shall be providing free access to the Internet.
