 The International Federation for information and Documentation (
FID) was recently awarded a contract by UNESCO for a study on the ways in which national informatics policies and strategies have been and should be established and updated. Stephen Parker, Executive Director of FID, is project manager for this study. A project Steering Committee, led by FID’s President and including the Presidents of FID's Regional Commissions will oversee the project and provide guidance to the project manager on documentary and other sources of national informatics policies. The main tasks of the Steering Committee would be to help in identifying national informatics policy and strategy documents from countries in their regions and in obtaining copies of such documents.
