The United States will soon have its first museum devoted solely to showcasing electronic art. The Beecher Center for the Electronic Arts to be opened in November with an exhibition of works of Nam Jun Paik will be the first museum in America built expressly for the creation and display of electronic and digital fine art.

Like the German ZKM http://www.zkm.de/english/baseframe.shtml, the Austrian Ars Electronica Museum http://www.aec.at, or the Japanese ICC http://www.ntticc.or.jp, the Beecher Center for the Electronic Arts http://www.bcea.org will promote the creation, exhibition, promotion and dissemination of technology-based art. WebWorld will regularly report on the activities of this Museum and similar institutions worldwide.
