Rebuilding Libraries in Kosovo
Library professionals in Kosovo and the international community face a major task to reconstruct library buildings and re-establish library services at all levels in Kosovo.
This is the overall conclusion of an assessment of the situation of libraries carried out by an expert mission to Kosovo, in early 2000.
The assessment was supported by UNESCO, the Council of Europe (CoE), the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) and library associations in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
This site, maintained by UNESCO's Information Society Division, is intended to be a clearinghouse for initiatives to rebuild libraries in Kosovo.
