This archive contains
Francisco de Miranda’s notes, in diary form, prepared during his travels
in the Caribbean, the United States, England, western continental Europe,
Turkey and Russia.
The Archive also contains Miranda’s correspondence
with key personalities of the day in each of the places he visited. When
we consider who these people were (Jefferson, Madison, Hamilton, Pitt,
Lord Wellington, Petion, Brissot and Fouché to name but a few),
we may appreciate the transcendent importance of this Archive as a record
of an age. |
