Historical Archives of Kotor

During the 16th through the 18th centuries, the coastal settlements of Boka Kotorska (especially Perast, Dobrota and Prcanj) with a few hundred of small sailing-ships are actively involved in liberating the Mediterranean and the Adriatic area from pirate devastation. The documents, in the official Venetian style, provide descriptions of various battles against pirates and witness the impact on world history of the struggle against piracy.
