The twelfth session of the Intergovernmental Council for the General Information Programme will be held at UNESCO Headquarters from 7 to 8 December 1998.

The Council is responsible, inter alia, for guiding the conception and planning of the General Information Programme of UNESCO, in particular, by putting forward recommendations on the content of future programmes and budgets to be submitted to the General Conference, as well as for reviewing the other information activities of UNESCO and making recommendations to the Director-General for a better co-ordination of the said activities

La douzième réunion du Conseil intergouvernemental du Programme Général d'Information se tiendra au Siège de l'UNESCO du 7 au 8 Décembre 1998.

Les fonctions principales du Conseil sont de guider la conception et la planification du Programme général d'information, notamment en formulant des recommandations relatives au contenu des programmes et budgets devant être soumis à la Conférence générale, ainsi que d'examiner les autres activités de l'UNESCO en matière d'information et de faire des recommandations au Directeur général en vue d'une meilleure coordination desdites activités.
