Objectives
|
To Develop a strong,
versatile team of Cambodian trainers backed by a team of local resource
people.
To develop and implement a series of complementary course modules in
journalism training which can be used as a core for a long-term journalism
training course.
To establish an efficient organisational structure for the Institute
capable of being run by Cambodian personnel by mid 1998.
To mobilise supplementary funds to ensure continuous Government fund
allocations for the long term financial sustainability of the of the
Institute and its activities.
To integrate training of Cambodia media professionals in the framework
of the National Higher Education plan.

Activities
|
Nearly 600 people
in media and associated fields were trained through 46 training courses
held in 1997. Two training of trainers courses were conducted for the
local training staff CTA was replaced with a local professional officer.
Two International consultancies were fielded to support the local project
staff in their efforts to develop the institutional and training management.
17 training courses of which 6 on election reporting, were conducted
during January-June.
