To establish the organisational base of a community feature network
at the press institute of India in New Delhi to organise, produce and
distribute feature stories of community interest to the small and medium-size
newspapers of rural India.
To establish an appropriate network of community based journalists to
act as feature network stringers to carry out feature assignments in
non metropolitan communities to feed into the rural small and medium
newspaper networks. To train, where necessary, the journalists of the
small and medium newspapers in feature writing for communities in rural
India.
