To familiarise national media with the legal framework for communications.

To provide basis for comparing regional legal framework and thereby contribute to a process of review and reform.

Contract established with AMIC to produce four monographs - Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Contractual arrangements have been made with AMIC to establish the network among documentation centres in Bangladesh, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand.

Objectives

To devise a communication strategy using print and broadcast media, whose messages are based on firm analysis of causes AIDS among young people.

 

Activities

Consultative meeting was held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 25-26 May 1998. A contract was issued to PANOS to conduct a base line study to be followed up by 3 training workshops, a gatekeeper's workshop and to prepare a Media Resource Book on HIV/AIDS reporting.
