Objectives

Produce programmes that will promote the strengthening of cultural identity, continuing education, socio-cultural development, freedom of expression and environmental protection. Strengthen rural radio stations in Bolivia. Through radio broadcasts in native languages, to promote the presence and participation of the indigenous peoples of Bolivia and to draw attention to the need for respect for their rights. Promote the organization of networks to enable Bolivian rural radio stations to provide mutual support.

Activities

1. Organize a production and circulation channel for educational messages.
2. Organize four workshops on educational radio.
3. Produce and distribute three manuals on radio production in endogenous languages.
4. Produce a series of 10 programmes for participating radio stations.
5. Produce a series of 20 micro-programmes to sensibilize about rights of indigenous peoples.
6. Organize four internships on administration of radio stations.

Funds obligated

The project funds were allocated February 1998.
Arrangements are being made for the implementation of the project.
