Objectives

Stimulate participation by socially excluded sectors in the cultural life of the country. Help to promote a culture of dialogue and reconciliation. Support the efforts of official and private bodies engaged in literacy work and formal education. Re-create the national culture with the new values of a united nation.

Activities

1. Study tour in Costa Rica (training in top-quality production and management) was performed by the project coordinator.
2. Adequate equipment has been purchased.
3. A high-level training course on educational and cultural audiovisual production has been carried out on January 13-17, 1997).
4. Four micro-programmes for television are being produced.
5. 12 workshops of the 13 foreseen on radio programmes production have been carried out. 200 people have so far been trained.
6. Radio programmes are being produced.
7. Research on the customs, tendencies and inclinations of radio listeners is being carried out. A workshop on the dissemination of cultural news will be carried out on February 19-21, 1998.

96 %. Due to the additional contribution of US $40,000 some activities, such as equipment, workshops and research, were increased.
