UNESCO and the Association of the Amazon Universities (UNAMAZ) co-operate to create a virtual Library of the Amazons. The CD-ROM series "Amazon Imaginary Narratives" is the first project being implemented within this framework. The first CD-ROM in a series of 14 issues will soon be published. It will include : a reference data base of phonographic records of 3,000 narratives; presentation (voice) of selected texts; illustration of narratives through photos, videos, drawings and animation; translation of texts into Spanish, French and English; dissemination of products through a CD-ROM (3,000 copies) and the Internet; integration of data bases into the Internet for national and international consultation.        Contact - Claudio Menezes, UNESCO Office Brasilia   cii.webmaster@unesco.org © Copyright 1998 - UNESCO
