4th UNESCO Forum on Gender Equality : "Gendered dimensions of Climate change" - (UNESCO) The UNESCO Forum on Gender Equality focuses on various topics pertaining to women’s empowerment and gender equality, with a view to bringing more attention to gender equality issues in relation to UNESCO’s fields of competence, and to raise awareness of the importance of promoting women’s empowerment and achieving gender equality.

Within the framework of UNESCO’s Capacity Development and Training Programme in Gender Mainstreaming>, the Section for Women and Gender Equality of the Bureau of Strategic Planning is pleased to announce the Third Seminar of the Programme entitled “Men and gender equality: resistance or support?” by Dr. Michael Kimmel. See the VIDEO Professor of Sociology at State University of New York at Stony Brook, Michael Kimmel is perhaps the world’s leading expert on men and masculinity. He is the author or editor of more than 20 books on the topic, has consulted with all the Ministries for Gender Equality in the Nordic countries, and has delivered the International Women’s Day lecture at the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the European Commission, and the European Space Agency. Dr. Kimmel has found ways to bring men into the discussions about gender equality in a way that is engaging and humorous, and enables everyone to feel included in gender equity projects.
