Eni is an energy company. We concretely support a just energy transition, with the objective of preserving our planet and promoting an efficient and sustainable access to energy for all. Our work is based on passion and innovation, on our unique strengths and skills, on the equal dignity of each person, recognizing diversity as a key value for human development, on the responsibility, integrity and transparency of our actions. We believe in the value of long-term partnerships with the Countries and communities where we operate, bringing long-lasting prosperity for all.
Sustainability is an essential part of our business and is integrated across all our operations.
Our mission is inspired by the UN's Agenda 2030 and promote human well-being and protect the environment. Integral to this action plan are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in various fields of social, economic and environmental development.
Eni's evolution: the strategic plan to 2050
After a thorough transformation that we began in 2014, we are now ready for a new phase in the evolution of our business model, which will take us to 2050. From today, and for the next thirty years we will be even more focussed on the creation of long term value, combining economic and environmental sustainability.
We are committed to an energy transition that is socially fair and that, through tangible solutions, preserves the environment and provides everyone with access to the energy they need.
This is the continent where we took our first steps outside of Italy in 1954 and where the cornerstones of our business model were established.
We stand alongside Africa in the increasingly strategic role it has to play on the international scene, wanting to assist with African countries’ energy transition by facilitating people’s access to forms of energy with a low environmental impact.
Angola is one of the African countries in which we are investing more energy, including by improving the infrastructure here, where we work in the E&P, Refining & Marketing and Chemicals, G&P, Gas & Luce and renewables sectors.
Integrating sustainability into our business model
For Eni, sustainability means contributing to a socially just energy transition that guarantees access to energy for everyone, while protecting the environment.
Eni organically includes the principles of environmental and social sustainability in its business plan, basing its range of actions on three pillars:
- operational excellence
- carbon neutrality by 2050
- partnerships for development
Just Transition, the inspiration for a new mission
Eni has embarked on a path towards an energy transition that will lead to a low-carbon future necessary to combat climate change. The solutions that the company intends to adopt are the result of innovative technologies and in line with the objectives set by the UN (SDGs). These include the fight against poverty and inequality to ensure access to reliable and sustainable energy for all. But many are the strategic levers that integrate the guidelines of a great challenge, which has energy as its common denominator!
The strategy until 2050
Today Eni is a leader in the production of clean energy, coming from renewable energy sources and/or a low carbon impact. The circular economy is applied in all industrial processes, service stations have given way to sales points of sustainable products of the latest generation, distributed all over the world.
