Global Media and Information Literacy Week

Within the Global Media and Information Literacy Week, the UNESCO Tashkent Office, UNESCO Almaty Cluster Office and National Library named after Alisher Navoi are conducting a training of trainers on the Formation of professional media and information competence of specialists of the Central Asian region  (8-14 November, 2021) on the basis of the educational and methodological complex "Fundamentals of information culture of a schoolchild" for schoolchildren of grades 1-9 of secondary schools by Ms Natalya Gendina, (Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Director of Science Research Institute of Information Technologies in Social Sphere in Kemerovo State University of Culture and Arts, Honored Scientist of Russian Federation) and Ms Elena Kosolapova (PhD (Pedagogical sciences), senior associate of Research Institute of Information Technologies of the Social sphere in Kemerovo State University of Culture and Arts). Leading specialists from Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the TOT.

The training will focus on the issues of adaptation of source materials to the psychophysiological characteristics of schoolchildren of different age categories (junior, middle, senior), as well as to the traditions of national history, culture and education of Central Asia countries.

The training will also make recommendations on the implementation of the training course "Fundamentals of the information culture of a schoolchild" in the pedagogical and library practice of the Central Asia countries.
