Supporting the National Literacy Campaign: UNESCO contributed to the ToT in Al Jezirah State

On 28th February 2016 in frameworks of the Sudanese National Literacy Campaign the Khartoum office of UNESCO together with the National Council of Literacy and Adult Education and in cooperation with the Ministries of Education – both, the federal, and the state one – and the National Commission for Education, Science and Culture launched an 8-days training of trainers for teachers (ToT) in Wad Medani, Al Jezirah State. The objective of the ToT was to abreast the skillsets of 20 trainers for teachers (from 53 existing in the state), who have to deliver new competencies to about 1,2 thousands teachers of out-of-school classrooms aiming to reach 48 thousands illiterate habitants of the state per year.

The opening ceremony of the ToT was honored by the Minister of Education of Al Jezirah State H.E. Dr. Nadia Mohamed Ali Alaqab and Dr. Pavel Kroupkine, head of the Khartoum office of UNESCO.
