UN agencies in Brazil release report on post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery
On 29 September, a virtual meeting will discuss actions to face the consequences of the pandemic in areas such as education, health and access to technology.
The report in Portuguese, COVID-19 e Desenvolvimento Sustentável: avaliando a crise de olho na recuperação will be launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF); and the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) in Brazil. The material establishes parameters for monitoring the recovery of the pandemic throughout. During the online launch event, experts will debate the essential aspects of sustainable development for Brazil, its 26 states, and its Federal District. T

The journalist Valdo Cruz will mediate the meeting, which will feature the participation of representatives of UN organizations involved in the production of the report: Katyna Argueta (UNDP), Marlova Noleto (UNESCO), Florence Bauer (UNICEF) and Socorro Gross (PAHO/WHO).
Specialists Cimar Azeredo Pereira (IBGE), Nísia Trindade (Fiocruz), Sérgio Besserman (PUC-Rio), Ricardo Enriques (Instituto Unibanco) and Romulo Portela (Cenpec) will also participate in the event.
