Culture & COVID-19
UNESCO's Culture Sector mobilised from the outbreak of the health crisis. In response to the profound impact that the COVID-19 pandemic would have on the culture sector, UNESCO launched several campaigns to further promote access to culture, recognise artists and analyse the immediate impact of the health crisis.
ResiliArt shed light on the state of the creative industries during the crisis through an exclusive global discussion with key industry professionals, while collecting the experiences and voices of resilience from artists on social media.
UNESCO, in response to COVID-19, carried out the #ShareOurHeritage campaign, where it promoted access to culture - from World Heritage properties to living heritage practices - during times of mass confinement.
To give cities around the world the opportunity to stand together and lead this action collectively.
