World Day for Audiovisual Heritage 2010
Langue : Français
Proclaimed by UNESCO in 2005, the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage is a commemoration of the adoption of the Recommendation for the Safeguarding and Preservation of Moving Images in 1980. The Coordinating Council of Audio-Visual Archives Associations (CCAAA) is designated by UNESCO as the lead implementing body to organize the yearly celebrations. This World Day raises awareness of the importance of audiovisual documents as integral parts of national identities and the world's memory. It is also an occasion to draw attention to the urgent need to safeguard those documents, which need to be protected if they are to survive.
