A Right to Belong

Language: English

The lack of citizenship has been identified as major risk factor for highland people in Thailand to be trafficked or, otherwise, exploited. Without legal status, ethnic minority people are considered illegal and subject to arrest, deportation, extortion and other forms of abuse and denied basic human rights. The documentary film A Right to Belong explores the issue of citizenship for highland people in their own words - how it shapes their lives and their hopes for the future
