Presentation of the UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme (MoW) and the announcement of activities to celebrate its 20th anniversary by Assistant Director General for Communication and Information of UNESCO.
The Memory of the World Programme was initiated in 1992 by Federico Mayor, UNESCO's Director-General of UNESCO, with the goal of preserving and providing access to documentary heritage that is held mainly in libraries, archives and museums and is the record of the 'memory' of humanity. Throughout the year, a series of activities will be organized at international and national level to promote the work of preserving heritage.
