Mr Adama Deng, Special Adviser of the United Nations for the Prevention of Genocide, explains the role of the United Nations in halting processes of discrimination and violence against groups that may lead to mass atrocities and genocide. He highlights the links between education about the Holocaust, as promoted by UNESCO, and the work of his office in alerting the world about the dangers of genocide today.
