Thirteen Nobel Prize winners gathered at UNESCO headquarters in Paris for a symposium to mark the fortieth anniversary of the discovery of the structure of DNA. Francis Crick and James Watson, who in 1953 discovered the double helix structure of the DNA.
The symposium was organized by COGENE, the Committee on Genetic Experimentation, and it was sponsored by UNESCO and the EU (Paris, 21-23 April 1993)
