This short film reveals the dire reality of migrant workers in the construction industry in Rajasthan. While migrants provide a low cost and flexible workforce for the urban informal economy, their contribution is still largely ignored. As electricians, carpenters, plumbers, masons or painters, they often work in poor conditions devoid of social security and legal protection, lack access to decent housing, drinking water and sanitation and are excluded from state provided services such as health and education for their children.
