A training video made by community school teachers and literacy workers that attempts at showing how the child's tok ples can be used to teach reading and writing
The interactive Whole Language (IWL) approach to literacy being used in some schools in Papua New Guinea. This approach teaches "word attack" skills, fluency comprehension skilss and develops a love of reading. The video shows teachers and students during activities in an IWL classroom in rural Papua New Guinea as well as the materials needed and how to organize teaching.
